The FN 509 Tactical is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm pistol with an optics-ready slide, threaded barrel, suppressor-height night sights, and ambidextrous controls.

Based on the FN 509 platform, the Tactical configuration adds FN America’s Low-Profile Optics Mounting System and a 4.5-inch threaded barrel while retaining the polymer frame, interchangeable backstraps, and accessory rail found throughout the 509 family.

Optics-Ready FN 509 Tactical

One of the defining features of the FN 509 Tactical is FN America’s Low-Profile Optics Mounting System. The factory mounting system supports a variety of compatible miniature red-dot optics without requiring the slide to be directly milled.

Suppressor-height night sights allow the iron sights to remain visible with many compatible optics installed. When an optic is not mounted, a protective slide cap covers the mounting area.

Threaded 4.5-Inch Barrel

The FN 509 Tactical uses a 4.5-inch cold hammer-forged stainless-steel barrel with a recessed target crown.

The muzzle is threaded 1/2″ x 28 and includes a thread protector with an integrated O-ring. FN America designed the configuration to accommodate compatible muzzle accessories while protecting the barrel threads when they are not in use.
